We are going through the biggest population boom the world has ever known. For thousands of years, numbers rose slowly and even sometimes declined. Then, with better health care and rising life expectancy, the rate of population started to climb steadily. So, this chart shows how population change in China, India and Japan through years is. In 1950, the population of China was the highest. It was 500 million, while, India was more than 300 million. In contrast, Japan was less than 100 million as the chart shows. Therefore, China's population was twice India's. Japan population rose slowly through years, while India's and China's rose rapidly. In 2000, Japan was out of the race that was between China and India. China's population reached more than billion and India's reached more than 800 millions. In contrast, Japan's increased slowly. That's may be due Japan's technological revolution and health care. It seems that Japan keeps its balance at population. Even in future, Japan's population will sag slowly but it will be at the same average. India is now forecast to surpass China in total population by 2030. While China's population is currently (2010) larger than India's by over 200 million, by 2050 India's population is expected to exceed China's by 200 million. In my point of view, China's decline is caused by its government. They use the one-child policy. Moreover, they impose restrictions on birth control so that they can prevent their population boom. GOOD LUCK
